Tuvalu comprises the sparsely populated Ellice Islands in Polynesia. The official mapping body is the Department of Lands and Surveys (TDLS) in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Rural Development. Mapping of this small island state was carried out in the late 1970s, under British overseas technical assistance programs, by the British Directorate of Overseas Surveys (DOS) (now Ordnance Survey International (OSI)). Orthophotomapping of the islands was compiled using the Transverse Mercator projection and International ellipsoid. Islands were published at different scales in a series comprising six sheets.

Soviet military topographic mapping of Tuvalu is available at the following scale: 1:1,000,000 (2 sheets, complete coverage, published in 1965). This product is available in print, digital raster and digital vector GIS formats from East View Geospatial.

Seas around the islands appear on Admiralty charts published by the British Hydrographic Office (HO).
