Available in e-book and print, Terrain Analysis of Syria and Lebanon contains 47 color topographic maps supplemented with locally sourced reports on demographics, roads, terrain, soils, hydrology, vegetation and climate.

Available in English for the first time and accessible on computers, tablets and smart phones in PDF format, the publication was created by East View Geospatial analysts who translated detailed terrain and geographic reports printed on the reverse sides of 1:200,000-scale topographic maps.  These maps were originally produced by Soviet national mapping authorities using on-site surveys, local knowledge and long-term observations. Where possible, East View has updated the reports with additional data from authoritative sources.

- Roads and bridges: Load capacities, surface type (e.g. dirt, gravel, asphalt) and width, elevation and seasonal conditions.
- Topography and Soil Conditions: Altitude and slope characteristics for local terrain, types of soils (e.g. sandy, clay), and water tables.
- Hydrography: Major rivers, widths, depths, and flow rates, banks/islands, silting, freezing pollution and conditions affecting use.
- Vegetation: Grassy, forested shrubs, tree heights and types, predominant types of grasses and crops cultivated.
- Climate: Temperature range by season, snow, rainfall and wind conditions.
